Bio
Sharon Granville MS, CCLS, CTRS, NCC is a certified child life specialist III at The Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital. Sharon has been working with children and their families for 15 years. Sharon joined the team at Kravis Children's Hospital after over 13 years at Schneider Children's Hospital at North Shore, in addition to starting her career at Westminster Children's Hospital in London, England.
As Inpatient Supervisor, Sharon supervises staff on the inpatient units of P4 and P5 in addition to the outpatient Hematology/Oncology clinic, General Pediatric clinic, Reach Out and Read, and Dialysis unit. She oversees clinical services and inpatient programming for patients and families in addition to interns, students and volunteers.
Sharon serves on the Pediatric Palliative Care, Bereavement, Project DOCC and Family Centered Care committees. She also leads educational seminars to pediatric medical students, residents, child life interns and others on various psychosocial topics.
Ms. Granville is an adjunct faculty instructor at the Bank Street College of Education in the Child Life masters program. She is also a certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and a nationally certified counselor. She also serves as an active board member of Child Life of Greater New York, a networking group of local child life leaders. She is currently president elect and has also served as secretary. She was instrumental in creating the Child Life Social that enables child life staff to meet in an informal environment for learning and sharing.
