Bio
Cheryl Strauss, CCLS, is a certified child life specialist III at the Kravis Children's Hospital at Mount Sinai . She has been working in the field of child life for over 15 years in various children's hospitals including Scottish Rite Medical Center in Atlanta and Shriner's Hospital in Cincinnati. After joining the child life team at Mount Sinai in 1999, she worked clinically on the pediatric inpatient units until becoming the Clinical Coordinator of The Zone in 2005. The Zone is a 3000 square foot therapeutic and education environment for pediatric patients and families.
Cheryl supervises staff in The Zone, including a massage therapist, medical librarian, closed circuit television producer, and Child life staff and students. She oversees programming for patients and families in The Zone including special events and visitors such as celebrities, community groups, and more.
Cheryl serves on the Pediatric Palliative Care and Bereavement committees at Mount Sinai . She also leads various educational seminars to pediatric medical students, residents, and others on child life related topics.
