Bio
Cheryl Strauss, CCLS, is a certified child life specialist III at The Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital. She has been working in the field of child life for over 15 years in various children's hospitals including Scottish Rite Medical Center in Atlanta and Shriner's Hospital in Cincinnati. After joining the child life team at Mount Sinai in 1999, she worked clinically on the pediatric inpatient units until becoming the Clinical Coordinator of The Zone in 2005. The Zone is a 3000 square foot therapeutic and educational environment for pediatric patients and families.
Cheryl coordinates the department's volunteer placements, supervises staff in The Zone, and oversees the programming within the space for patients and families, including special events and celebrity visits. She leads various educational seminars to pediatric medical students, residents, and others on child life related topics.
